Responsibilities

The KeyW Content Development Team includes individuals with an extensive range of experience gathering and developing raw content for complex technical training delivered using interactive eLearning, distance learning, and/or instructor-led courseware. The depth of experience allows KeyW Content Developers to rapidly and effectively design and develop custom and highly technical training solutions to meet the time-critical needs of our customers.

KeyW Content Developers serve as the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on the course design and development projects. The Content Developers work together with others to conduct thorough data gathering and needs analyses to develop comprehensive learning objectives mapped to Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) and/or Job Qualification Standards (JQS). They will design and develop training on complex technical concepts, ensure accuracy of course content, and design instructionally sound learning solutions.

KeyW Content Developers create cumulative, practical exercise environments that mimic a real-world experience and provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate concepts presented in the course. Furthermore, KeyW Content Developers work with Testing professionals to design and develop rigorous formative and summative assessments to gauge the learners’ mastery of key concepts presented in the learning materials. KeyW Content Developers use a variety of technologies, techniques, and tools including commercial, open source, as well as custom solutions to support the creation of learning solutions.

Among the tasks required of the successful Content Developer Level II Candidate are:

  • Research, develop, and refine content to be applied in interactive eLearning, distance learning, and/or instructor-led courseware of a technical nature for training solutions
  • Work collaboratively with Instructors, Facilitators, Instructional Designers, Multimedia Designers, Testing Specialists, Programmers, Infrastructure Support, Course Support, and other team members as applicable to develop learning objectives for interactive, technical training solutions
  • Design and implement Virtual Machine (VM) networks from which the students will be working for the hands-on portions of the course
  • Create scenarios and cumulative virtual practical exercise environments that mimic a real-world experience and provide learners an opportunity to demonstrate concepts presented in the course
  • Work collaboratively with Testing Specialists to design and produce formative and summative assessments (exam questions and case studies) to gauge the learners’ mastery of key concepts presented in learning materials and participate in Exam Cut Score Workshops to determine the appropriate passing scores
  • Conduct the mapping of course learning objectives to Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) and/or Job Qualification Standards (JQS) requirements
  • Develop supporting documentation for the overall design, delivery, and ongoing maintenance of learning solutions (for example, develop reference materials, glossary terms, exercises and practicums, supplemental reading materials, enrichment materials and “Help” topics, etc.)
  • to design, develop, and implement course improvements
  • Develop time estimates and schedules for designing and delivering learning objects and completing other tasks

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science of related field and a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the content area(s) of the training to be developed/maintained.
  • This candidate should be considered an industry of Government recognized expert in subject matter relevant to the training; specifically, Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of one of the following categories: Microsoft Windows workstation and server operating systems, Linux/Unix workstation and server operating systems, general networking concepts, or mission-related security concepts.
  • Mission experience and/or commercial certifications may be used to demonstrate subject matter expertise. Relevant experience shall be in at least two of the following areas:
    • Mission-related operations duties
    • Development of related training
    • Instruction of related training
    • Mentoring/technical leadership in related content areas
  • Experience building virtual machine environments using VMware (or similar tools) is desired.

Clearance: Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of a polygraph.
