Job Description:

  • Responsible for server and systems administration, O&M and engineering and tactical operations tools. Experience/knowledge of forensic cyber testing on variety of hardware platforms. Experience/knowledge of RF environments.
  • Experience/knowledge of data collection and analysis.
  • Experience/knowledge in reverse engineering and automation tools.
  • Experience with LINUX/Unix, Windows Server, Windows 7/Vista/XP, SCCM, SCOM, SharePoint, Red Hat Administration, Microsoft Exchange, Powershell, Scripting, VMWare.
  • Additional Areas of expertise: Data preparation; data modeling and analytics; technical targeting and analysis
  • Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
  • Performs systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering
  • Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements
  • Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems
  • Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements
  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves operating/hardware system problems
  • Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance
  • Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
  • Participates in special projects as required


Performance Objectives:

  • Perform routine configuration/maintenance on CISCO hardware to enable the mission
  • Monitor firewalls and suggest new rules, routines, and Indicators of Compromise
  • Create and suggest new analytics as your abilities and time allow for in Splunk
  • Build and maintain complex Linux systems running CentOS and hardened to meet operational standards
  • Enable orchestration and automation of the entire system from start to maintenance through Puppet, Kickstart, Ansible, Bash/Python scripts, and more
  • Troubleshoot systems and networks as needed to maintain efficiency and uptime
  • Lead through subject matter expertise and understanding of the system within the first year
  • Create and update monitoring solutions to always know weak points throughout the system
  • Track hardware deployments and update status of systems to ensure compliance
  • Stay abreast of security and system relevant threats and adversary methodologies to suggest updates throughout


Degree: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or similar technical major and 7 years of software engineering experience.


Location:  Annapolis Junction, MD


Clearance:  Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
