    KeyW Corporation is currently seeking an Application Programmer II with a current Top Secret clearance located in Chantilly, VA.


    • Provide applications engineer and applications programming support to include interpreting and meeting application requirements and designing, coding, integrating, and testing application components.
    • Develop basic application specifications.
    • Implement and maintain automatic testing procedures, processes, and testing framework for testing development code.
    • Implement and maintain automatic deployment procedures and processes for new releases or changed or new tools and applications on existing systems, platforms, and networks.
    • Implement and maintain document-oriented Non-Structured Query Language (ORACLE, MARIA DB or similar) database platforms that have a schema-agnostic data model for storing and managing data.
    • offer and analyze its design and design alternatives.
    • Identify, resolve, and test defects.
    • Research relevant technologies throughout industry that may be leveraged by the NCIJTF.
    • Maintain the NCIJTF IT portfolio by working with the O&M and system administration team to fix defects in application software, tools, capabilities, and databases. The Contractor shall provide related functionality in support of the user community, the O&M and system administration team, and NCIJTF leadership.
    • Apply Agile and iterative development methodologies in order to provide timely capabilities to the user community.
    • Provide continued application support and requirements management by providing and applying system/software engineering expertise, supporting integration activities, providing system security, creating and maintaining program lifecycle documentation, creating and maintaining application documentation, and creating and maintaining database documentation.
    • Participate in the definition and refinement of Government requirements to successfully develop solutions for NCIJTF mission needs.
    • Ensure it meets Government requirements to include task completion, work estimates, and test criteria while actively identifying dependencies and risks that may affect NCIJTF application functionality.
    • Provide a Government-approved format for end-of-sprint status coordination on accomplishments against assigned tasks and shall notify the Government of any obstacles preventing task completion.
    • Base the composition and the priority of its work on NCIJTF-provided project plans and product and release backlogs.
    • Respond to and meet high-level requirements provided by individual application or tool “product owners.”
    • Work in a team-based.Agile environment. As in typical Scrum-based Agile processes, the development team shall work together with the NCIJTF product owner to develop and estimate user stories and establish acceptance criteria to specify expected functionality for a user story and any non-functional requirements that must be met in the development of the story. The NCIJTF Product Owner, supported by NCIJTF technology experts and business analysts, will determine whether or not acceptance criteria have been satisfied.
    • Analyze NCIJTF applications and develop a plan for automated regression testing.
    • Implement an automated regression test plan using existing and available tools.
    • Execute test cases and report all results on its automated regression testing.
    • Entegrate Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS), Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS), open source, and/or NCIJTF-developed software to satisfy requirements.
    • Write code in Java, .Net, ORACLE, MARIA DB or similar and in scripting languages approved by the Government, including those in use at the NCIJTF (e.g., but not limited to, Python, Bash, and Perl).
    • Use custom code when necessary but shall present the Government with options, cost analysis, and Return on Investment (ROI) for a determination on customization for IT coding.
    • Demonstrate the completed requirements, highlighting the impact to the Government, at the conclusion of each sprint.
    • In coordination with the Government, jointly agree upon testing and acceptance duration at project inception. These durations will vary in duration based on the size and scope of the individual effort, but testing and acceptance will take place typically within one sprint of initial delivery.
    • Continually analyze the backlog of Government requirements and scenarios presented by the Government to ensure future activities are resolved, actionable, and achievable. support the tracking of backlog requirements and assist with tracking completion. The current backlog of requirements and user stories include work areas, such as:
      • Adapting and/or adding external interfaces.
      • Incorporating priority initiatives defined by the Government.
      • Supporting Government mission functionalities.
      • Refactoring system code to ensure maintainability.
      • Updating commercial products as utilized by NCIJTF information systems.
      • Technical analysis for improving system stability, functionality, efficiency and cost.


    • Accurately represents customer requirements and possesses excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent technical writing skills.
    • Able to work in an operational environment where priorities change frequently.
    • Proficient at gathering and interpreting relevant data and information.
    • Applies advanced skills in Java, .Net, ORACLE, MARIA DB or similar and in scripting languages approved by or preferred by the Government.


    • Has a bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Engineering, Management Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline with three years of relevant experience in systems analysis or business analysis.
    • Associate’s degree in Business, Engineering, Management Sciences, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline with four years of relevant experience in systems analysis or business analysis.
    • Five years of relevant experience in application programming.



    This position requires that the candidate possess a Top Secret security clearance.
