  • Overview

    Join our Cyber Security team responsible for maintaining the security and accreditation of DCGS-A family of systems by systematically controlling, monitoring, and managing software changes and releases. RMF documentation supports all sections of the DCGS-A Integrations contract with high quality and timely technical editing, documentation management and other writing support functions.


    • As a Documentation Manager, you will be part of the DCGS-A Team by supporting the Cyber Security throughout all phases of the Risk Management Framework Processes by controlling documentation, configuration items, baselines, and ensuring successful delivery of Risk Management Framework packages to appropriate agencies and stakeholders.
    • Coordinate with key government and contractor stakeholders in all stages of the Risk Management Framework.
    • Conduct RMF documentation planning and management
    • Identify and control RMF artifacts
    • Conduct configuration verification and audit
    • Write, edit and manage complex operational, instructional, maintenance or manuals for various DCGS-A systems in order to: meet program requirements for RMF accreditations.
    • Gather text and materials (such as engineering models, drawings, schematics, spreadsheets, etc.) by researching products and data, conducting in depth interviews with various users, technical staff and subject matter experts in order to analyze, interpret and convert the information into end-user military standard (MIL STD) documentation and reference materials
    • Provide recommendations and ideas to the technical documentation team, project leads, management and the customer on best work practices, workflow, presentation, structure and organization of materials by developing new work processes and methods using existing authoring tools, new authoring tools and third party plug-ins in order to improve work process efficiency and overall quality of customer deliverables
    • Proactively inform management team and project leads to report project status, issues or concerns, including issues of scope, and scheduling


    • Three years of relevant work experience is required. Relevant work experience includes, but is not limited to writing technical specifications, manuals, internal documentation or customer reference documents.
    • At least 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Office at the power user level or above Must be able to edit, write, and/or rewrite technical articles, publications, presentations, and other materials to communicate clearly and effectively on research findings, technical developments, and other information to a wide range of external audiences. An Associate’s degree is highly desirable. (General Studies)
    • Excellent working knowledge of DoD MIL Standards and style guides and the ability to adhere to and implement such standards to technical documentation
    • Must be able to exercise quality control over documentation intended for external distribution.
    • Must be capable of reviewing customer drawings and data and translate customer language into standard procedures and product flow.
    • Advanced English language skills including accurate definitions and spelling of relevant technical words, rules of composition, and grammar
    • Advanced written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with the target audience
    • Excellent verbal communication, listening and interviewing skills
    • Excellent ability to research and interpret data
    • Demonstrated experience working in a DoD IT environment as a technical writer
    • In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Visio
    • Demonstrated experience with digital Knowledge Management (e.g., MS SharePoint) as a power user
    • Secret, TS/SCI Eligibility

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certification / certificate in technical writing from an accredited institute
    • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) or other related Microsoft certification
    • MOS: Microsoft SharePoint 2013 certified
    • Familiarity of task / project management principles (e.g. PMI, ITIL, SCRUM, CMMI, AGILE)
    • Experience with BOE documentation and either RFM / DIACAP packages
    • Currently active process improvement certification (e.g., Certified CMMI Associate, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above, PMI PMP, ITIL, etc.)

    Clearance Requirement: This position requires a Secret Clearance to start with Top Secret Security with SCI Clearance, based on current background investigation.
