  • Overview

     

    Serve as part of an agile software team in the Engineering Development and Special Projects division. The candidate will be expected to work in a multi-discipline engineering team to develop terrestrial and satellite communication systems. The person in this role would develop embedded software to communicate with other subsystems in a larger architecture, as well as, to implement advanced communication protocols and algorithms.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Implement advanced communication protocols and algorithms.

    Qualifications

     

    Required:

     

    • 10+ years of experience in embedded software development.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
    • Experience with C/C++.
    • Experience with real time operating systems concepts such as primitives (semaphore, mutex), scheduling techniques, user/kernel space.
    • Experience with microprocessor fundamentals such as interrupt processing, registers, etc.
    • Experience with basic protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART.
    • Ability to work well as a part of a team.
    • Good problem solving and debugging skills.
    • Quick learner.

     

    Preferred:

     

    • 15+ years of experience in embedded software development.
    • Experience with version control (Git, ClearCase, SVN) and bug tracking (Trac, JIRA).
    • Experience with algorithm implementation.
    • Experience with low level communication protocol implementation.
    • Experience in Linux fundamentals, driver-writing, and shell.
    • Experience in microcontroller fundamentals such as ADC, DAC, timers, PWM, DMA, watchdog, etc.
    • Experience with memory such as NOR, NAND, SRAM, DRAM, wear leveling.
    • Experience with advanced protocols such as SATA, PCIE, USB, CAN, MOST.
    • Perl or Python scripting skills.
    • Basic electronic skills such as schematics reading, using oscilloscope, multimeter, soldering iron.
    • Basic knowledge of FPGA implementation.
    • Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    Clearance

     

     

    Positions requires a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  If necessary Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
