Obtain and maintain IA baseline certification appropriate to position. Seven years of relevant experience.


This position might be substituted by Nine years of professional enterprise or major program of record information system (IS) or mission application experience, appropriate Information Assurance Technical (IA) Technical and Computing Environment (CE) certifications, and qualified to perform in Information Assurance Management Level II, Technical Level III or Computer Network Defense - Auditor (CND-AU) positions in accordance with standards spelled out in DoD 8570.01-M and the Army Information Assurance(IA) Training and Certification Best Business Practice.  


Experience can substitute for the degree provided the person has BOTH the relevant experience AND is fully Information Assurance (IA) certified in accordance with AR 25-2, Information Assurance, and the associated best business practice for IA Training and certification (IA Training BBP).




  • Develop policies and procedures reflecting the legislative intent of applicable laws and regulations for the NE.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures concerning the security of network system(s) operations.
  • Participate in an IS risk assessment during the C&A process.
  • Ensure that IA and IA enabled software, hardware, and firmware comply with appropriate NE security configuration guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure that NE IS recovery processes are monitored and that IA features and procedures are properly restored.
  • Review IA security plans for the NE.
  • Ensure that all IAM review items are tracked and reported.
  • Ensure that IA inspections, tests, and reviews are coordinated for the NE.
  • Provide leadership and direction to NE personnel by ensuring that IA security awareness, basics, literacy, and training are provided to operations personnel commensurate with their responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and follow NE and IA policies and procedures.
  • Advise the DAA of any changes affecting the NE IA posture.
  • Help prepare IA certification and accreditation documentation.
  • Ensure that compliance monitoring occurs, and review results of such monitoring across the NE.
  • Provide support for IA customer service performance requirements.
  • Provide support for the development of IA related customer support policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Establish enclave logging procedures to include: important enclave events; services and proxies; log archiving facility.

  • BS degree in Computer Science, or other Engineering or Technical discipline with an Information Security or Cyber Security Concentration.
  • Advanced Degree with concentration in Information Security or Cyber Security preferred.
  • Must be Information Assurance (IA) Trained and Certified per the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement; IAW DoD 8570.1-M, Change 3.
  • The position will perform a subset of functions spanning the IAT-III and IAM-II levels. Certification requirements are specified in section C2.2.5 of DoD 8570.1-M, Change 3.

Clearance Requirement: This position requires a Secret Security Clearance, based on current background investigation.
