Responsibilities

Job Description:

ELECTRONICS ASSEMBLER

Under limited supervision, performs moderately complex manufacturing of electronic assemblies to include chassis assembly and electronic subassembly. Candidate will support small lot production manufacturing. Will work with New Product Introduction Lead on documentation and assembly processes. Will work from build to print documentation as well as limited documentation packages. May oversee junior personnel and assign employees to maximize production objectives in coordination with program management on schedule requirements.

 

Experience and Training:
8-10 years of directly applicable work experience in Electronic Assembly.

Performs any combination of the following tasks to electro-mechanical assemblies through verbal or detailed written instructions: manufacture, disassemble, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, wiring, rework and documentation capture to support configuration management. Assemblies typically include integration of COTs components, printed circuit assemblies and cable assemblies.  

Qualifications

Beneficial Skills and Qualifications that will help, but not required:

  • Familiarization with ruggedized assembly processes for electro-mechanical packaging for military and commercial products, understanding proper hardware stacking, cable routing and cable retention is a must.
  • Capable of cable assembly, soldering and crimping with proper shielding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
  • Efficient computer skills is a must for effective communications, MS Office Suite. Database entry a requirement.
  • Capable of reading assembly drawings, components drawings, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and updating documentation as needed, typically via MS Office Suite.
  • Use of digital voltmeter
  • Use of small hand tools (wrenches, torque wrenches, screwdrivers) and working under a microscope is required to support microelectronic assemblies.
  • Familiarization with potting processes.
  • IPC JSTD-001 and IPC/WHMA 620 a plus.
  • Familiarity w/ISO and AS-9100 manufacturing processes and procedures a plus
